What are the intersections between archaeology and cultural anthropology? Why are so many departments splitting apart these days? What are the theoretical and methodological problems that create tensions and divisions between these two fields?
I don't understand it. I have a healthy respect for the work that archaeologists and cultural anthropologists do--this includes each of the more qualitative and quantitative sides of the fields. There is so much to look at, and so much to cover. Why limit the possibilities? Why only listen to or consider certain perspectives?
Each can inform the other. That's what I think.
