Maybe what "anthropology" needs are less articles and PR pieces that basically say "here is why anthropology is so important in the modern world" and more well-written, well-executed, interesting pieces that happen to have an author whose tagline says: "X is an associate professor at the University of X" and nothing more.
Like the old saying for writing goes: Show, don't tell.
The work itself will illustrate what anthropology is all about far more effectively than any statement ever could.
